Costa Coffee introduces the Flat White
Internationally celebrated FLAT WHITE now comes to India

UK based Coffee Chain, Costa Coffee has launched its bestselling international coffee, the Flat White in India.

The Flat White, originally made famous by its runaway success in Australia and New Zealand is a three-shot Espresso and flat no-froth milk which takes coffee drinking to a new high. Coffee connoisseurs across the world are raving about the Flat White and customers are giving it the thumbs up.

Costa Flat White takes skill to make and, when well-made, is an exceptionally satisfying coffee drink. It uses more espresso coffee than a cappuccino or latte. It also uses very creamily-steamed milk, which is a knack in itself.  Costa is the only coffee chain that uses a Cortissimo, a shorter coffee extraction method, to build the Flat White. This is then blended with milk that has been heated using a special technique, resulting in a smooth, velvety texture, with each drink hand finished with a distinctive 'florette' pattern.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Virag Joshi, CEO & President, Devyani International Ltd. said “ Costa is India’s first international coffee brand and India is one of the most exciting markets for Costa Coffee. We have learnt that the Indian customer is always willing to try new offerings and with the popularity of the Flat White soaring elsewhere at Costa stores globally we think it's the right time to give our patrons a taste of this wonderful new coffee.’

A special Costa Master Class was organized on the occasion to showcase the technique and skill required to prepare a perfect cup of Flat White. It was conducted by the winner of last year’s ‘Barista of the Year’ – Devender Kumar, where he shared his experience and some expert tips on coffee making.

Speaking on the launch of Flat White, Mr. Ashish Chanana, COO, Costa Coffee India said’ We are proud to be offering India’s coffee lovers another totally new blend. Besides offering an unbeatable coffee experience, we are constantly looking at making our cafes the preferred hang out space through food and beverage innovations. I am confident that our new bestselling international coffee will delight our customers and leave them spoilt for choice.’

The drink is price at Rs 165/- and available at all Costa outlets in India.

Delhi’s first ever Robatayaki Festival at b-bar

I was invited by b-bar team to try their Japanese famed grill and barbecue cooking. They have organised stand- alone Robatayaki Festival to celebrate Japanese cuisine. My first visit to b-bar as a blogger was extremely extraordinary.

Robatayaki, which literally means “fireside-cooking” in Japanese is often shortened to just Robata and refers to a method of cooking similar to a barbecue in which items of food on skewers or iron griddles are slow-grilled over hot charcoal. It is the original traditional Japanese style of barbecue cooking which is prepared in front of customers and is served directly, similar to the manner of Sushi preparation and presentation.

Since there was everything live in the restaurant and guest can actually look the cooking procedure and of course can select their choice from the carefully selected seasonal vegetables, seafood, poultry and meat from Robata section. Chefs then delicately grill the same with the guest’s choice of glaze to perfection.

I interacted with Chef Richard B and appreciated the selection of menu which features a mix of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. He explained the classic combinations of Robatayaki Cooking. Guests can sample an array of exotic meat preparations featuring Rock Lobster, Jumbo prawns, Salmon, Baby Chicken or go for vegan favourites such as Asparagus, Eggplant, Bottle Gourd etc served with a choice of glaze and sauces.

The ambience of the restaurant was so perfect, you can give your entire focus on the food and the soft music at the background gone so well with atmosphere.

I must say the food was very healthy, tasty and experience has amazed me and insist me to visit again.

Buddhist religious leader from India inaugurates newly restored Ashoka Stupa in China.

His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa, spiritual head of the Drukpa Order with over one thousand monasteries across the Himalayas, created history by inaugurating the millennia old Ashoka Stupa in Nangchen , which was restored under the supervision of Drukpa monks over the last decade.

Nangchen is a county in the Yushu prefecture in Qinghai province, neighbouring the Tibetan Chamdo district. This region was historically an important centre of trade and culture which makes it an ideal location for a symbol of humanism. Buddhist scriptures explain that Emperor Ashoka commissioned the construction of this Stupa in order to spread the message of Buddhism. Legend has it that over 80,000 such Stupas were built to enshrine the relics of the Buddha and that nineteen such Stupas were built in China.

The Stupa at Nangchen fell to ruin over the last few centuries. The discovery of a pillar inscribed with the history of the Stupa at the site revived interest in the site and brought awareness of its significance. Devotees and practitioners resurrected the site under the leadership of the late Trulshik Adeu Rinpoche. With Rinpoche’s untimely passing in 2007, His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa decided to work with Adeu Rinpoche’s nephew, Trulshik Satrul Rinpoche, to complete the restoration of Ashoka, with active support of Drukpa followers from Asia, Europe, America and all corners of the world.

How to get rid of tanning this summers...

I am again back with some unique and interesting facts about summers.

Summer is almost here and it’s time to be dressed in the pretty summer floral dresses. Your summer can be as cool and refreshing like cool breeze and like a dreamland full of ice with a cool breeze. Oops! If this is too much then try these remedies and trust me those who hate summer will start falling in love.
We always think to apply Besan (Bengal Gram Flour) and Turmeric Face Pack, but I would not suggest for this with Turmeric (Haldi). Reason is very simple if you apply Turmeric on regular, it darkens your skin tone when it is sun exposed. On the other side it also gives flawless skin, so no need to worry just apply it but off course with caution.
All of us waste so much time in salon applying those heavy and itching face packs and use chemical products for instant tan removal. When it comes to side-effects free healing of tanned skin, home remedies using natural ingredients is the best option because it soothes and cool and nourishes the skin and removes the tan.

Few home ingredients (Lemon juice, Tomatoes, potatoes, Multani Mitti, etc) should be used in limited intervals. Too much use of anything can take your skin in some other direction. So, do not put much efforts to use daily (skip for a day and then continue).

Like said by many experts lemon juice is good for hair treatment it is also and one of the quickest tan removal. Mix a tablespoon of lemon juice with curd and apply with cotton on tanned areas, wait for about 10 minutes and wash off with Rose water if possible otherwise cold water would also work.

Papaya is known for skin whitening, glowing skin and with many other benefits.  Take 1 cup of papaya pulp and mash it well, add a table spoon of honey to it and ½ spoon curd. Mix it well and apply for 20 minutes. Rinse off with cold water.

All of us must have heard the benefits of Tomato juice which works as a natural toner to shrink open pores and reduce oiliness of skin. Apply tomato juice for 10 minutes and wash with cold water. For quick result apply it with curd.

Potatoes indeed work very well on skin. It lightens blemishes, sun burn, and help to reduce dark circles as well. Extract the juice of one potato using a grinder and apply on face for 30 minutes. Wash off with cold water.

You can also apply sandal wood mix with rose water it act as a soothing balm and helps heal blemishes and blisters. Apply this pack until dry and wash off with cold water.

To add more...Take orange peels and dry it in the sunlight. Mash it and then apply it on with 1 table spoon of lemon juice. Leave it for 10- 15 minutes and rinse off with water. This can do miracle to your skin.

All above remedies not only help you to remove tanned skin but actually helps you to remove extra oil, pimples, acne from your face.  You can have glowy, flawless skin at the end of the day.

Metro rail - The worst

Now a Days metro has become the worst rail, not just because it get stop in between the stations. But also because there is no set of rules for the metro railway. Generally the swarm used to enter the metro and people dig the places to find a suitable and comfortable place in the train. But this has become a night mare for many people. The platform like rajiv chowk are always over crowded and it is good for the pick pocketers but not for all. In this way metro is not at all save to travel with some good amount in such a stampede. Many people board the metro from Rajiv Chowk or from kashmeri gate and i have observed the security is not to alert, so in a way you have to take care of all your belongingness.
If i say the security is bit strict at crowded places but what about the less crowded places there police feel free to talk, to roam, to wander etc. i would like to applaud you all for bearing all the mess in the Metro. These all things should get improve before CWG. People should get an alert alarm while travelling, so that when something happen in a wrong way they get to know.
A metro needs to be improve in all the way like today 99% of ladies are not save in the metro. there should also be a separate compartment for the ladies where they can feel comfortable and save.
